I met up with Nathan and Jenny a couple of weeks ago with the intention of shooting some late afternoon engagement photos at El Mercado, but we forgot about the buzzing farmer’s market that they’ve got going on. Engagement sessions are often best done in quieter places unless you like making out in public, so we made a quick decision to jet over to nearby Barrio Historico instead. It’s just a small area, but it’s one of my all-time favorite spots for photos, and certainly one of the most iconic locations in Tucson. We wandered around for a bit, soaking up the colorful adobe, funky doorways and general authentic ambiance, and then we dashed up A Mountain to catch a little rugged mountain sunset action.
As you can tell from the photos, they’ve got an easy smiles and lots of laughter. They’re smart, fun and funny, and have a deep love for Tucson. We finished the evening up with a fabulous dinner at Penca (yum!) and compared notes on the flourishing downtown restaurant scene. Here are a few of my favorite images from our afternoon. I’m looking forward to their wedding!
