Chris and Brie’s sun-drenched Starr Pass wedding // Tucson Wedding Photography

My friends Chris and Brie had a fabulous fall wedding this past weekend at the lovely Starr Pass Marriott, and I thought I’d share a few photos! I met them through my wife last year, and hit it off with both of them right away. They’re fun and funny and love nothing more than to hang out with their dog Lucy and have a laugh. They have an easygoing chemistry together that just makes you smile when you’re around them. I knew this would be a fun wedding!

Chris and Brie come from strong families and you could sense that connection and mutual support at the wedding. Not surprisingly, they made me feel like family too, and it was a pleasure to be on hand for their big day.

The weather was beautiful and the desert setting out at Starr Pass couldn’t have been nicer. If you’re going to have a wedding in Tucson and you want perfect weather, early November is about as safe a bet as you can get. The daylight runs out fast though, so everything from hair and makeup to ceremony time runs a bit earlier this time of year.

Two of my favorite wedding vendors helped make sure that all came together seamlessly – a big thank you goes out to the incredibly talented Raemie with Margarita Go Diva’s I Do Hair and Makeup Artistry, and the tirelessly fabulous Katie with Posh Petals. Not only do they both do gorgeous work, but they do it on time, every time, and that makes a huge difference in the flow of your big day.

Chris’s adorable grandmother presided over a short but sweet ceremony, and they both made it through their handwritten vows without a hitch – just lots of smiles and laughter and warmth.

With the “hard part” over, it was a party from there on out – guests enjoyed a gorgeous late afternoon cocktail hour overlooking the city, and we traipsed around the golf course, racing the setting sun and dodging hungry javelinas.

My longtime friend Luke from Saytr Entertainment provided great music and gorgeous lighting for the evening’s festivities, and beloved wedding pixies Stephany and Molly from Black Sheep Filmworks were zipping around enjoying themselves all day as well. It was a great team to work with, and we all agreed that there’s just something about Chris and Brie that makes them adorable, and made this day particularly special.

Please enjoy a few pics from the day while we sort through the rest!

Kim and Dexter’s fabulous Skyline Country Club Wedding // Tucson Wedding Photography

I was honored to attend and photograph Kim and Dexter’s wedding this fall at the lovely Skyline Country Club in Tucson. They’re a cute, playful, romantic duo, and a pleasure to spend time with – what more could a wedding photographer ask for? Their engagement session in downtown Tucson last year was so much fun, I could barely wait for the big day itself.

Kim and her cheerfully rowdy bridesmaids got ready at the Arizona Inn, another of my favorite venues, and we had time for a few pics there before heading up to the club, where my longtime photo collaborator JP Connelly was busy photographing the equally comic guys.

Once there, we’d arranged for Kim and Dexter to see each other before the ceremony on the club’s famous spiral stairs. It made for a great moment and great photographs, and we had time to make some fun family portraits before guests started to arrive.

The ceremony itself was filled with laughter and happy tears (and a funny first date handshake-reenactment). There’s a lot of love for these two and it was a moving ceremony to say the least.

Stormy skies had us all a bit worried (and robbed us of an epic sunset), but the rain held off until well after everyone was safely inside and dancing the night away. Everyone had a fantastic time, and I stuck around to the end, running the photo booth and eating the fabulous cake and pastries they’re known for at Skyline!

Hats off to ace wedding planner Rackel Gehlsen, who put her heart into this one as much as any planner I’ve ever seen, and I sincerely believe fixed the weather that day by sheer willpower. Gorgeous flowers (as always) by the lovely Georgianne at Villa Feliz.

Here are some of my favorites from the reception slideshow – enjoy these while we sort and process the rest!
