I’m pretty sure Jimmy and Katie hold the unofficial record as my clients with the highest vertical leap. Being devoted volleyball players and all-around wildly fit humans doesn’t hurt, for sure.
Their wedding this past weekend was equal parts devout, fun and athletic, with plenty of spontaneous running and jumping at every turn. The ceremony was held in the UA’s Newman Center, a spot close to Jimmy’s heart as a Catholic Wildcat, followed with a hijinx on the UA mall with the bridal party, and then dash up north for a sunset portrait session at the Golf Club at Vistoso, the site of the reception.
The evening’s festivities were hosted by my good friend Marc Summersett, of CE entertainment, who knows how to jump-start a party. Thus I wasn’t at all surprised when the groomsmen emerged dressed as the Village People for a rousing rendition of “Macho Man,” and even less surprised when the dance floor stayed packed all night long. Congratulations you two – I look forward to getting in a great hike together sometime in the future, provided you’ll go slow enough that I can keep up!
And of course, thanks to both of my oft-unmentioned co-workers, JP Connelly and Chris Roth, for divvying up the second-photographer duties by zip code!
Here are a few favorites from the reception slide show that we put on!
